Happy August: Holly Pixels & the Space Dragon

What a crazy, pandemic year we're having! I pray that you're all staying safe and hope you're creating because it really does help!

I'm very excited to announce that I accepted a position as Illustration/Lettering Ambassador for Holly Pixels, a wonderful creative presence on the internet who teaches iPad art, including digital lettering, planning and illustration. As an Illustration/Lettering Ambassador, I create at least one illustration each month using products from Holly Pixels' website. Holly is a wonderfully creative soul who not only sells amazing products - everything from Procreate Brushes to enamel pins - but also gives free and paid lessons on iPad lettering and art and gives free products away! She has many tutorials on YouTube. I have been using her free brush ("Durango") for a couple of months and find it just like using a fountain pen when I use it with my Apple Pencil and my new 2020 iPad Pro 11, only cleaner and easier! I urge you to get an account on her site for free to start enjoying her free lessons or investing in her paid tools and products.

You can also sign up for the vault where you'll be able to download items she's chosen to share for free. She may be found on instagram (@hollypixels) and on the web at https://www.hollypixels.com. My first illustration for June was this little summer fairy that was largely made using Collage Maker Brushes for Procreate by OkayAnnie Designs available at: https://hollypixels.com/product/collage-maker-brushes-for-procreate-by-okayannie-designs/
and Colorado Procreate Brushes by Holly Pixels available at:

I created this funny pun world run by dogs and cats for my July illustration, "Bee Paws-itive and Make a Difference." I used the Collage Maker Set (above) as well as brushes from the following brushsets:

The most wonderful things that happened was that the SpaceX Dragon Crew returned home from a stint on the Space Station! I created this coloring page for you if you promise to sign up for my future blogs. To do this, it's best to use the web view and sign into the box that says "Follow By Email." That's only half the process though! Please look immediately for an email that confirms you want to sign up for this. It may go into your junk email so please check both your normal inbox and your junk email. By doing this, you'll be the first to get my new blogs with freebies. No spam, I promise! I send a blog every month or two and upload free cards and alterable (coloring) pages. To download my Space Dragon, please right click on this image and save to your device. Then print and alter as you'd like with stamps, stickers, colored pencils, etc. I'd love to see your creation so please take a photo of the final altered piece and upload to Instagram and tag me (@BarbaraHauenstein) or tag me on Facebook (Barbara Hauenstein). This piece is for your personal use only.
Thank you for visiting with me! Let me know how you're doing in the comments. I'd love to hear what you'd like me to draw next!

Take care,
Barbee
